French authorities recently announced that the Calais refugee camp – known as the Jungle –

will be demolished in just a few weeks’ time. It’s estimated that there are over 10,000 people living in the camp, including over 1000 unaccompanied children. Supplies are urgently needed by the organisations working on the ground to help ensure those living in the camp can leave in dignity when the time comes, and are at least equipped for whatever awaits them next.

 

Over the coming weeks, we are collecting some of the most needed items to deliver to the Help Refugees warehouse in Calais later this month. From there, the supplies will be distributed directly to the camp’s most vulnerable residents as both eviction and winter approach.
